The Prince had summoned me to him. Of course, without hesitation, I followed the commands and arrived promptly. He had a mission. It seemed fairly straight forward. I requested that the team, that I had just left, be allowed to accompany me and assist. We seemed to have worked so well together. He agreed and would set payment with each individual based on their desires and needs. I then took the information to the others and asked for their help.
It seemed that the lightening rail had been stopped and robbed. The people seen at the scene of the crime, were wearing Cyran colors and this was causing problems with the Brelish. The worst part of the whole situation was that Cord had been kidnapped. Of course, I did not show how my heart ached at that very thought, but did inform them that he was a Captain of the Brelish Dragoons. There were also three chests, which were the property of the Crown, stolen. We were to return the chests and rescue Cord. There were a total of 12 known assailants noted at the scene.
We traveled uneventful to where the lightening rail was stopped. Armek and Et’Fortis tracked the group to an abandoned farmhouse. It was there that we found evidence that a wagon was picked up. We then continued tracking until we reached the border of Cyre.
We crossed and continued despite trepidations. After several hours of travel, Armek and I moved forward to scout. We found a concealed barn. Some of the group had stopped and were found to be hiding within. There were three holes dug in the ground the size small chests.
I sent Armek back to warn the others, so that they did not accidentally walk into the set up, our opposition was preparing. With the group was one of the men, that Alanna had been gambling and drinking with the night before, in the tavern.
After watching them for a while and getting a general layout of their intentions, I too backed away and made my way back to the others, to give a warning. This way we could make plans for our attack.
The attack seemed to be fairly simple, Advar and Xavier stayed behind with the horses and traveling equipment. Anderwulf, Alanna, Armek, Et’Fortis all traveled under a hiding spell cast by Et. The spell allowed us to approach undetected and position each of us prior to the attack.
Et and I dared to go all the way inside the barn, where we started the attack. The battle was glorious. A lot blood was spilled and not so much on our side. When it was all finished, we stood victorious and took the spoils of war.
The three chests were filled with Cyran artifacts that had been rescued from the kingdom’s disaster. I believe these are the three chests that the Prince desired to have returned.
Unfortunately, one of the enemy managed to escape. He was capable of hiding in shadows also. We have decided to track him down. Hopefully he will have more information on where Cord has been taken to.
